to choose or not to choose? that is the question

Ok.

So i got offered a position at Drew & Napier LLC for my internship.

I also got offered a position at Tan Rajah & Cheah.

And now i don't know which to choose.

I know it should be a no-brainer.Everyone i've spoken to has supported my decision on the former.

"Drew& Napier lah,duh!..hello it's one of Singapore's leading firms. You know how good it will look on your Uni applications?"

Yes I do. But at the same time I really like Tan Rajah & Cheah.I know it might not be the biggest or most well known of firms but it's still something that really appeals to me.

As much as an internship is what it is-you do the same thing which ever the firm-it still matters where you go to because a bigger more well known firm will certainly stand out against a smaller less known one which in turn would probably open more doors for you.

I am someone who assimilates herself very quickly into the environment around her. When i went for the interviews at both firms, it was the environment at Tan Rajah & Cheah that made me feel more comfortable and at ease. The interviewer too seemed more friendly.

I know all these factors might seem small and unimportant to a 3rd party reading this. I know I would probably feel the same way too if I were the 3rd party, especially with the big corporate appeal Drew has on potential lawyers-to-be.

But is this what I really want?-The corporate appeal? or do I want the experience that big firms are sometimes not able to provide?. I guess in short I wouldn't want to intern at a big firm and come out of my internship with little experience, something which a smaller firm is more inclined to provide.

I will be working by myself at Tan Rajah & Cheah as compared to the 2 more i'll be working with at Drew. I am unsure if this will work to my advantage or disadvantage.

What I do know is,whichever firm i decide to choose and whatever comes out from that decision will happen for a reason. The reason, my dear readers might not be clear to me now but I know in retrospect,it will show itself and when it does I know it would have taught me something. Good or bad, It would have taught me something.

I have till 4pm to decide. That gives me 3 and a half hours.

.....till next time fellas..catch you on the flipside..=)
