so what will it be?

So I was talking to my mother the other day about my post-diploma options.

It started casually enough. What do you want to do after poly? where do you want to go to do it? Which university are you considering?..What do you want to specialise in?..so on and so forth.

And to all questions, I thought I had an answer.

I want to get my Law Degree, I want to go the the UK,I did consider Bristol, but am now considering Leicester,I want to specialise in Family and Criminal law,but wouldn't mind going into Maritme Law either.

Then it hits me. I Can't quite place my finger on what "it" is exactly. Just a general feeling that maybe going to the UK to get my degree may not be the best of options.

But if not the UK then where? Australia? Well yes, that's a very viable possibility. But the universities in Australia offer a 4 year degree programme as compared to the 3 year programme universities in the UK offer.

But what's a year? I am certainly in no rush to get my degree.

The UK has always traditionally been the country of choice for anyone who wished to furthur their education, especially if it pertained to the study of Law,Medicine or Science. However, in recent times, we've seen this tradition slowly vanish with the availability of more educational oppurtunities in Australia.

Coupled with this availability is the -almost similar to Singapore- standard of living and cost of expenses, which would lessen the financial strain on the parents.

I've also heard that the environment Down Under is less dreary and depressing as compared to the UK. Now, I myself have only been to the UK and to make a comparison between the two would do me more then an injustice.

So what will it be? The United Kingdom, that which is steeped in tradition? or Australia, that which is maturing?

What would it be kind sir? or should I be more inclined to say mate?..hahaa...

...till next time fellas....catch you on the flipside..=)
